Maple Glen 3-Season Room & Deck

Project Overview

After working with Custom Craft on previous projects, this Maple Glen family knew they could trust our team to help them with another item on their home improvement list. As a busy family with pets, they were looking to add more living space with an indoor/outdoor area that was comfortable and convenient. With their existing patios separated from the house and providing very little shade, they desired a space that was more connected for easy access and protected from the elements, while still allowing them to enjoy the outdoors.

DESIGN Process

As we do with all structural projects, we called in an expert architectural team to help us frame out a three-season room and deck. This time, we had the pleasure of working with Philips & Donovan, who carefully planned for elements that would make our clients’ space a seamless connection to the outdoors. Simple, clean lines, neutral colors, and lots of natural lighting were top priorities.

The new three-season room is accessible through the home office, with wainscoting that matches other rooms of the house. The white and tan exterior coordinates with the existing siding, and custom gable triangle windows make the room feel spacious and bright. A ceiling fan ensures comfort as they enjoy a morning cup of coffee, watch the dogs play in the yard, or catch a Phillies game on the outdoor TV.

To tie in the deck, our team crafted a custom PVC lattice to run under both structures seamlessly. The two areas also have matching low-maintenance, durable Trex composite tongue-and-groove flooring designed to keep out insects and weeds. The deck is conveniently connected to the kitchen, so they can easily bring food outside to grill, or sit down to a meal with friends and family.
