Avant Garde Doylestown Kitchen

Project Overview
While their existing kitchen served its purpose, this Doylestown couple longed for a space that matched their personality and cooking style. On top of their wish list was moving away from the existing traditional style to a bolder look that reflected their creative and fun nature. They also wanted a new layout that accommodated how they moved around the kitchen. They called Custom Craft to help them design a customized kitchen that felt more natural in both form and function.

Design Process
Removing a peninsula, repurposing a closet area, and relocating the refrigerator created room for several new features. In the center of the new kitchen is an expansive island with plenty of room for guests to sit and eat, along with convenient storage to make food prep easy. The island also includes a built-in workstation sink with a cutting board, strainer, and other helpful features. At one end of the island is an extra workspace cabinet with a slightly lower countertop that’s just the right size for the petite home chef. Just above the island hangs a trio of brightly colored urchin pendant lights — the perfect bit of artsy flair these homeowners were looking for.

"Every person working on the project was personable and professional. They all went above and beyond my expectations."
