expansive covered deck for outdoor living

Project Overview

We have had the pleasure of working with these clients since 2012, when they came to us looking to put a roof onto their existing deck. In 2020 they contacted us again to make updates to that same outdoor space.

Looking to make their deck more of an outdoor living space, well-equipped for entertaining and connecting it to the backyard and pool, our goal was to give them more undercover space with a modern twist.

DESIGN Process

To create the space they were looking for, we extended the deck and roof an additional six feet. To upgrade the look, we removed the decking and replaced it with TimberTech Azek capped polymer decking in Brazilian Walnut. Composite decking holds up much better than regular wood but has the same look. We removed the wood balusters from the railings and replaced them with cables to allow for maximum visibility while also providing security. To illuminate the walkway from the deck to the lower level backyard and pool area, we added lighted post caps.

The clients were very pleased with the outcome and we hope to continue to work with them for years to come!
