Reclaimed Space Meets Refined Style
in a Dresher Primary Bath

Project Overview

This Dresher homeowner was ready to reclaim her primary bathroom. A previous owner had taken space from it to enlarge the adjacent hall bath, leaving the primary bath feeling cramped and awkward. The dated design included an unused tub, deteriorating materials, hard-to-reach outlets, and an unnecessary water closet that made the space feel closed off. The dark, poorly flowing layout no longer served her needs.

She envisioned a spacious retreat with a double vanity, dedicated dressing area with ample storage, and an expansive shower. Her goal was to create an open, functional space that felt bright and luxurious while still maintaining some privacy.

DESIGN Process

The Custom Craft team began by reclaiming the square footage taken by the previous renovation, immediately opening up possibilities for a better layout. We removed the tub and water closet, then reimagined the entire space for improved flow and function.

The new design flips the sink and dressing areas to create a more open feel. The double vanity features a center drawer and side storage, while a dedicated sit-down dressing area provides the perfect spot for daily routines. Two tall cabinets — one at the front and one at the back of the bathroom — offer abundant storage, with convenient roll-out trays in the rear cabinet. Other thoughtful details include in-drawer outlets that make daily tasks more convenient and a niche in the shower for easy access to essentials.

Large-format, marble-look wall tile minimizes grout lines for a clean, modern aesthetic and easier maintenance. The hexagonal shower floor and accent tile in the niche add subtle texture, while grey wood-look floor tile warms the space. Chrome fixtures with matte black accents provide sophisticated contrast, and the maple cabinetry in an antique barrel stain coordinates beautifully with the Calacatta Verona quartz countertops. Decorative cabinet posts add an elegant finishing touch to this transformed retreat.
