Timeless & Sophisticated gwynedd valley bathrooms

Project Overview

The owners of this 1971 Gwynedd Valley home were unsatisfied with their dated interior — especially the bathrooms, which were original to the house. Their first thought was to move, but when they couldn’t find exactly what they were looking for, they decided to stay in their home and make some updates instead.

The hall and primary bathrooms had classic 1971s features — from shiny brass fixtures and trim to intricately detailed patterns on the wall and floor. The textured ceramic tile was very difficult to keep clean, and aging plumbing fixtures weren’t functioning properly. The Custom Craft team set a plan in motion to refresh and modernize their bathrooms for better function and an updated look.

DESIGN Process

Since there weren’t any issues with the current layout, we decided to keep the footprint of both bathrooms the same and simply update all the surfaces and fixtures. New vanities with gorgeous Calacatta Valentin countertops look elegant and sophisticated and provide lots of convenient storage. Complementing the countertops is soft, gray unpolished Carrara tile on the floor and shower walls. We swapped the shiny brass fixtures for stunning champagne bronze — for an upgraded look that doesn’t compromise on character.

These homeowners now have two bathrooms that match their style and are sure to stand the test of time, so they’ll love their home for years to come.
