Welcoming Spring House Kitchen Remodel

Project Overview

This Spring House family was ready for a kitchen transformation. Their existing layout was problematic — walkways were inadequate and everyone crowded in the same corner since most features were concentrated in one area. They dreamed of a space where family and guests would feel at home and daily meal prep and entertaining would be easier.

In their previous home, the couple had enjoyed a dedicated “coffee room” where they spent time each day catching up. They wanted to recreate this experience in a way that felt connected to the kitchen. They also needed a beverage area separate from the main work zone, ample storage for small appliances and pantry goods, and a seamless way to step outside and enjoy their backyard.

DESIGN Process

The Custom Craft team reimagined the kitchen layout to create a more functional space. Instead of a formal dining table, seating is now along the new countertop and at the center island. Shifting the doorway between the dining room and kitchen made space for a dedicated beverage station with plenty of storage and an extra sink.

A 9-foot sliding door replaced windows along one wall, flooding the space with natural light and providing direct access to the backyard. The kitchen work triangle was carefully redesigned for improved flow and functionality.

Our clients are now enjoying more cabinet storage, including two tall pantry cabinets with roll-out trays and vertical shelving for baking sheets. Special features include a lift-up cabinet, aka appliance garage, that hides the microwave when not in use, double dishwashers for extra efficiency, and sleek refrigerator and freezer columns.

White wall cabinets and deep blue base cabinets create a striking contrast, while white artisan ceramic tile adds a touch of elegance. Matte black fixtures complement the space, and red oak flooring stained to match the rest of the home ensures a seamless transition between rooms.

This family has the perfect space for casual gatherings and coffee moments. Their new kitchen even played a central role in their successful Super Bowl party!
